MONTGOMERY COUNTY IMPROVES PLASTIC RECYCLING
As of July 1, single-family homes in Montgomery County will be able to recycle all plastic bottles, containers and lids, jars, pails, buckets, and food-grade plastic tubs. Items previously not allowed - yogurt/sour cream/deli containers, peanut butter/mayonnaise jars, ice cream/margarine tubs, plastic beverage cups, flowerpots, kitty litter containers, and detergent tubs - will now be recyclable, beginning July 1, 2008.
Please note that the following items ARE NOT recyclable: If the plastic contained any hazardous material - motor oil, anti-freeze, pesticides, or insecticides - it cannot be recycled.
